Type: Magic box tries to be a real girl
Synopsis: “Fear in Cube” is your typical Inquisition torture device until the day she is taken in by Yachi Haruaki, and exorcist that specializes in magic items that turn into cute girls. Together, they try to help “Fear” redeem herself by killing other evil things that double as cute girls. Its kinda like rehab, but for magic objects that double as cute girls.
Pros: If your looking for an action anime with lots of petite high school girl fan service, then you’ve come to the right place. This show manages to squeeze in a lot without you really realizing it (though, I could have just been not playing too much attention at the time). Their are a few funny moments here and there, and the whole show has this weird mix of cutesy character design and violent action that’s intriguing. And also reallly liked the first opening (incredibly well done). I also like the character Peavy (the mouth on that one!).
Cons: I would like to say that that show’s bad, but its not. Its average. The action is average. The comedy is average. The characters are average. The only thing that caught my attention was the opening (and admittedly, the T&A). Then there’s that character Kirika Ueno, whose whole full body leather strap suit that kills her every night thing kinda freaks you out. The show also have this morbid undertone to it fueled by its characters that double as torture devices, which may not be your thing.
Watch it?: Well, you won’t hate it if you do. (3/5)
MVP: The First Opening
Possibly one of my favorites of all time
Best Episode: Ep. 3 “The Antinomy of Their Temperatures” (every element of the show in one episode)
